Last night it was a double elimination on Dancing With the Stars. First up, long distance swimmer Diana Nyad and pro Henry Byalikov got booted. Then former NHL star Sean Avery and his partner Karina Smirnoff got peaced out.
Holly Madison is set to open a Las Vegas lounge in April at MandalayBay, a club that is more speakeasy, social club than a typical nightclub or bar. It’s called 1923 Bourbon & Burlesque, the prohibition-style bar will feature dancers working the room and a four-piece band nightly. Madison will sing occasionally while her dancers strip down to their underwear and they will not go fully topless.
Maria Menounos will no longer co-host Extra with Mario Lopez. Word is Menounos was not fired but she willingly decided to leave the show. Rumors of a rift between Menounos and Lopez are also untrue.
A judge has sentenced 1970s teen heartthrob David Cassidy to three months in rehab and five years of probation in a drunken driving case. Cassidy’s attorney entered an open plea to a Los Angeles judge yesterday, admitting that he was driving under the influence when he was arrested in January after making an illegal turn.
Joe Brown was arrested in court yesterday. Yes the former star of Judge Joe Brown, which was canceled last year. Brown arrived at Juvenile Court in Memphis to promote his run for district attorney. He then went to court as an attorney and complained constantly about the delays and then began to argue against the judge in the case. The judge "advised Brown that he needed to desist," but Brown refused and continued acting up. So the former judge was held in contempt of court, got five days in jail and his bail request denied. Brown has also been held alone for safety reasons.
Taylor Swift surprised a cancer patient by showing up at her room at the MemorialSloan-KetteringCancerCenter in New York Saturday and she was only scheduled to be there for an hour. After meeting Shelby Huff, Taylor ended up talking with her for more than four and a half hours and praised the 17-year-old for her spirit and determination.
The pieces have been coming together for Insurgent, and following a solid opening for Divergent this past weekend the company behind the film has finally given it the greenlight. Shailene Woodley and Theo James will reprise their roles for the sequel which will be out March 20th, 2015.
Yesterday co-creator and executive producer of American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy revealed via Twitter what the official subtitle of AHS's 4th season will be. The new official headline for the FX thriller is... American Horror Story: Freak Show. It’s been confirmed that next season will take place in Jupiter, Florida in 1950. Jessica Lange will pay a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the United States.
