Last year, the New York City Village Halloween Parade was set to go, with hundreds of puppets, more than fifty bands, dancers, artists, and thousands of costumed New Yorkers. Then, Superstorm Sandy brought it to a screeching halt. For the first time in its 39 year history, the parade was cancelled and millions of New Yorkers and visitors from around the world were devastated.
Although nothing compares to the tragic loss of life and property caused by Sandy, the last minute cancellation was a financial disaster for the parade, putting its future in jeopardy. Months and months of work were lost which has left the parade organizers with a budget shortfall of $50,000.
The parade needs your help. The organizers have set up a Kickstarter campaign to try and raise the money necessary for the parade to take place. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
