This year at the American Music Awards, Rihanna was the recipeint of the first-ever Icon Award.

The superstar is certainly worthy of the honor. She is the best-selling digital artist of all time, selling more than 50 million albums and 180 million digital tracks worldwide. She has released seven albums, earned 12 No. 1 singles and won six Grammy Awards. She also has 80 million Facebook followers, making her the top artist on the social media platform.

After performing a special version of her hit song "Diamonds" and hearing a special message from Jay Z, she accepted the award which was given to her by her mother Monica.
